Piping or no piping?

I'm recovering my chairs, and need some help figuring out whether I should do piping or leave it off. I like the clean look without the piping, but my husband likes the piping ;P

The chairs are quite lovely either way, however it would depend on how formal you want your chairs to be. The piping gives it an additional level of "dress up." It's like the classic black dress: Looks great by itself but you need the pearls if you want to kick it up a notch! Let us know what you decide.

I like the chair both ways. If it's a "hubby likes this" vs "you like that" you may just have to do a coin toss ;-) I used the same fabric on my chairs. Didn't put piping on because our style is a bit less formal and more cottage. They're wearing very well. In the end, it's really what fits you and your home best.

I have a degree I design and also recovered my black lacquer Queen Anne dining chairs. I went without the welting to go with my contemporary decor. Adding it takes it up a notch and lends itself to traditional. Fun to a contrasting color too. My fabric was bright floral with black background so left plain🤔

Personally I prefer with piping, I believe it fishes off the chairs and they look more high end! Just my opinion, I do love what you have done your chairs look amazing.
