Chalk paint is always easy to use.

Glossy black paint can make a piece look very sophtiscated. I usually resort to either Krylon or Rustoleum spray paints as the work well. Just apply two to three light coats rather than spraying too heavily once.
Clean with TSP.
I have painted multiple pieces of furniture black with RustOleum Painter's Touch. It is durable and applies easily. If you are going to prime first, consider having your primer tinted to make covering easier.
Hello. Very exciting project. I want to paint 2 dining chairs black myself.

If you get the paint Allinone you don’t need to strip it,sand it prime it. Just wash with Murphy’s oil soap to get all the wax off and then paint.
I use Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black on everything I paint black. I've painted furniture, the railings, and many DIY projects.
You can use about any paint. Latex would likely be the easiest. Be sure to clean the piece well of dust, grease, and dirt. If you're painting over a previous finish, you might need to lightly sand or use a primer.
Chalk paint will be perfect and wax it with top coat wax ...super easy .. always comes out beautiful
