What kind of paint should I use to paint my wood dining room chairs?

I have a wood table and I will leave it that way.

If you like a gloss finish - then Rub down, Prime - Undercoat - Gloss Topcoat. If you like Satin finish same way only finish with Satin paint. If you want a quick job, that doesn't wear so well then you could use chalk paint and wax after, No need to prep..........

I cant say it enough, Chalk Paint, Mud Paint or Fusion paint. All are self leveling so you dont have to sand and repair dents. There are options for sealing the finish. Clean well to remove all residue before painting.

I would definitely use oil based paint for durability. My d.r. chairs need to be touched up now, but they have had over 30 years of use!

I too have used an oil based paint on 4 bar stools 28 years ago. They still look perfect!
