Always best to remove, It can separate and bubble from moisture in the paint. Seams may show.

I agree with William, the seams will always show, but that said, people do, so yes you can but think of this..... if you hate it and want it gone, you now have a much harder job. Sorry :(

But if you do, sand all seams or rough places, and pull any loose paper off and sand those areas. Then use chalk paint. Best wishes ☺️

NO, NO, NO!!! Never paint over wallpaper. If you do it is next to impossible to ever take it off because you have to somehow get through the paint layer in order to do so. It's always worth the time to do the job right because in the end if you don't it will take you 3 times as long and it never looks quite right!

Please avoid unless you have no choice. William is right, it will bubble, seams will lift, etc. Worse is that when you finally decide you should have done it correctly the first time, it will be an utter nightmare to remove. I got stuck with that in my first house. Cursed the sellers for a really long time!

You will hate yourself - or the next buyer will hate you. Don't do it.

As everyone has said, don't. Try this:

Or just ask Youtube for "remove wallpaper before painting".
