My painted white cabinets are getting distressed naturally

I'd like to get some color on the edges where my cabinets are losing their paint. Can I just go over them with done kind of colored antiquing wax? Or does anyone have a solution other than repainting them? I live the distressed look and I'm half way there anyway.

Why not sand the edges to be uniform in wear & then wax with a darker wax.
Play it safe and repaint them.
Colored wax is a great idea. You also might try Old English Scratch Cover Oil. I use the dark on some furniture and the Light on other furniture. I also mix the two if I need that shade.

maybe make your own glaze. Add color where you want it and wipe it off quickly from where you don't.
