My question as I watched these grandparents was always, "Why are you sweeping your yards, and why is there no grass around your house?" We have grass around ours.
You could have water damage.
Are you asking how to prevent it, or what would make it happen? It could happen if the tub is a cast iron and the added weight of water can be too much for old floor boards. Or if the seal around the base of any tub is broken, and water seeps underneath, it get rot out the floor boards underneath. Add a tub full of water and an adult to the weight of the tub, and it could be a disaster!
Hi Tim, A water leak will rot the floor. This happens more often that you would think!
If the floor and joists have rotted by water damage over time. If the floor can't hold the weight of a bathtub full of water.
Easy. If moisture has seeped through the floor and rotted it, the weight of the bathtub, especially if it is full of water, would break through the rotted floor and land on the floor below, and even farther. I’m sorry, Tim. ☺️
