It happened to my client. She had a Jacuzzi tub that had little cracks around the drain. It was over 20 years old and was leaking enough to rot out the floor joists by outside wall. Why nothing showed up on ceiling beow. Filled up tub one day and luckily fell thru before she hot in it.
Hi Tim. I'm Cindy. Either the weight of the tub and water OR the floor joist below was rotted, or comprised somehow. One or both of these is enough to make the tub come crashing down. I hope nobody was hurt. Wishing you well.
