4 Steps You Should Follow If You Want to Learn How to Smooth Concrete after It Dries

If it's sheetrock or drywall, you will need to remove all of the tile adhesive and then use joint compound or spackle to smooth the drywall. When it dries, sand it smooth. Wipe away the dust and prime and paint.
Use 220 grit sandpaper or a sanding pad on the rough areas to smooth them out. Then use Kilz or Zinseer primer before painting.

If you are painting you can skim coat the areas where the tile was with cement, or masonry cement and a trowel or wide blade scraper. Then paint.
You’ll need to clean as much off the wall as you can, possibly try to sand it clear, then repair the area with joint compound or wall patch. After that, sand, prime, and paint.
You can patch with sheetrock pieces cut to fit the area. Then putty and sand to a smooth finish.
That sounds great. Where do I get sheetrock??
Get some wall mud and apply to the area. Sand down to make even, prime and paint
I would sand it smooth with my sander, and if need be give it a skim coat of joint compound using a taping knife.
