Convert side by side washer/dryer to stackable - what to do about vent
Small laundry room and I need more clothes hanging space so getting stackable washer and dryer. The dryer was to the right of the washer and will now be on top. How do I get the stackable dryer to connect with the existing vent? Do I need some sort of extension and run it against the wall or do I need to have a professional come and move it in the wall? In a condo so options are limited. Thanks!

If it previously with a regular dryer hose, you should be able to use a longer one so it reaches.

You should b able to re reroute the vent for the dryer easily as well, you can buy all the pieces you need to do this, try to avoid the flexible hose unless you are prepared to clean it out annually.

Tricks to Stacking Any Washer & Dryer to Save Space

just FYI the dryer is harder to reach unless you are tall; hard to reach your lint filter too- I hated having mine stacked
Any washer or dryer can be made stackable using a washer/dryer stacking kit. Many manufacturers create stacking kits for their washers and dryers, so before buying a new one, if space is an issue, ensure that yours can be made stackable. ...
Remove the feet from the bottom of the dryer and install the padded strips. Pull the washer forward for access to the rear for installing the retainer brackets. Situate the dryer on top of the washer and install the retainer brackets. Carefully push the washer and dryer back into place.
Can you by chance switch them so the dryer is on the bottom? That will make it easier to move in wet clothes from the top. Sounds like you will need extra hose, but you need dryer hose tape (can get at Walmart.)

You have to buy a Stacking frame to do so.
