We have a front door that has a large (about 1 inch) gap between the bottom of the door and the threshold. The floors are bamboo, no carpet.

There are sweeps that you attach to the bottom of the door. They come in various lengths and materials. Ask at your local hardware which is best for your conditions. They may have some additional fixes for you.

An inch is a big gap. Can your door be added to? An attached section on the lower part of the door could close the gap.

Thresholds come in different heights. You can install a higher threshold. Another option is to remove the door and screw in some wood to take up the gap.

Square wooden dowel rods can be purchased at Lowe's, about an inch thick. Maybe a few of those could fill the gap, but the door would need to be taken off it's hinges to install them.

Your house may have foundation problems that left the gap. The edge of the house may have risen, or the porch fallen. If the foundation is firm, i suggest a brass kick plate or a rubber dust guard to bridge the gap. ☺️
