Can lights be converted to battery operated?
I have some really nice patio/café string lights. They are electric, though, and I don't have access to power. Can these lights somehow be converted to be battery operated??!!!

You would need an ac to dc inverter and a 12 volt battery.

For the price of an inverter & batteries, would you rather buy a 25’ exterior-grade extension cord? It would be very useful.
Hi there, yes you can and this tutorial will show you how - https://www.hunker.com/12458614/how-to-convert-a-lamp-to-battery-power
If you do decide to convert the lights to run on battery power, I strongly suggest using rechargeable batteries.
In my experience, these type of lights, even though they seem small, can eat through batteries like crazy.
Yes, rechargeables may seem more expensive to purchase at the beginning compared with non-rechargeable, but as they are long lasting, it should be a one-time purchase.
Purchase 2 sets of rechargeables (keep the spare set in the charger) so that you are never without lights when you most want or need them (in the middle of a patio party for example).
You can but since the strings are made for electric power, they'll eat through battery power quite quick I imagine. For the time and expense, you might be better off picking up some solar strings or other pre-made battery powered strands.
You will need a small solar set up with power inverter
Small generators that can recharge from sunlight (some can recharge using more than one method), are something I have seen used for camping, like this one:
