Hi Marjie, what is your sink made of?
if it's cultured marble (feels like plastic or fibreglass) paint doesn't stick very well. I have one. It will probably stick to the counter with lots of sanding, but not the sink part long term, if you were planning on painting that too.

You can use a porcelain touch up paint to the sink to cover up the cracks. They work pretty well.
