Oak Table Top: In Need of Repair

We have a large oak kitchen table with a polyurethane finish. We damaged the table top finish with super glue, heat marks, etc. The rest of the table is fine. We would like to "refinish" the table top only. We have little experience in this area. Thanks in advance for any advice.
