I have about a 200 gallon pond with some fish. My pond pump died . Is there any way to replace it cheaply without having to buy an expensive new one?

  • Hi Got,

Not to my knowledge. But be sure there's nothing impending the propeller. Since it's not working anyway, it doesn't hurt to take it somewhat apart to see if something has gotten inside to clog in up. Been thru my share of pond pumps over the years. Sometimes I can clean them out and they'll work, other times they are just dead.

Be sure it is UNPLUGGED before you start to work on it.

ALSO! be sure it's not your outlet. This has happened to me - replaced pump only to find out it was the outlet - grrr.

    Just some suggestions, good luck!

You could try to get yours repaired. Also, the submersible pumps don't last long in my opinion. I recommend to get one like this: https://amzn.to/2VfBHmc

I would contact a swimming pool repair service and see if they repair pond pumps. They have basically the same mechanicals, so you may get lucky.
