Put baking soda (about quarter cup), then vinegar (about a cup), let it sit and fizz for a while, maybe ten or fifteen minutes. Follow with a gallon of boiling water. If that doesn't clear the drain, try it again. If that doesn't work, the clog may be too far down the drain and will need to be roto rootered. You can also remove the elbow to see if something is stuck in it, just make sure you have a large bucket for the pipe to empty into when it starts to loosen.
It really depends on how badly it's clogged and with what, but I think the next time I have that problem I'll try the Dawn trick. It seems so many are having good luck with it. Pour about 1/2 cup of Dawn in the drain, let it set for 30 minutes, then flush with warm (not hot) water. May have to repeat several times. Also get you a 'Zip-it' at Walmart. I got one, but haven't had to use it yet.
Baking soda and vinarger
Bleach - Coke - Plunger ....If all else fails - call a Plumber.........
Liquid dish soap and very warm water... you'll have to do it several times. Which drain is clogged? Bath, kitchen, toilet???
I've done the Dawn trick and it works great - takes some patience - might have to do it multiple times but at least you're not using harsh chemicals or harming your pipes.
