Flushed water pump, now have black sand when running outside faucet?
Flushed out water pump used with our well because we had lower water pressure. After had good water pressure in the house. The outside faucet was used to fill poor up 3". Found black sediment, looks like black sand. We did not have an issue with black sand before we flushed out the water pump. What can be done to correct the problem?

Here's a link that might explain what is going on with your well water and the black sediment your pump is bringing up, #2 & #5 seem to be the most specific to your problem and what to do about it:

Hi Lisa,
See the previous answer to your question.
Its probably a bit of corrosion in your pipes that got stuck in the pump. Now that its flushed out it should clear up by itself. If it continues though or, especially, if it worsens I would call a well company to come get a look at it.

Most likely it is sediments that have now been released and pushed through because of the pressure change on the pump flush. This should disappear over time.
