What kind of lantern? Photo, if you can.
Different like what? If the glass is flat, replacement glass is cheaper than plexiglass.
Usually you can use 4 panes cut to size. You will likely need to glue the panes in place.
We don't know what it looks like. Round type lantern glass? Flat panels. If flat panels any stained glass store can cut new ones in a jiffy. If typical oil lantern style then scour thrift shops for replacement glass.
Dou you have a pic? Perhaps take it to a glass blower and get a custom one made
Hello Ellie, hope this helps you out, if you can get the measurements of the old broken globe,

If it is a square lantern you may be able to replace the glass with the glass from a frame the same size. Check the thrift stores for glass frames.
we don't know what type or shape it is. Can you post photo. If it is a flat piece you can cut a new one with a glass cutter. If it is a rounded one you will have to purchase a new shade.
If its an older piece I would check out your local salvage depot / antique stores and thrift shops. My local one has an entire room full of random glass off of lanterns and light fixtures.
Hi Elkie, hope this helps you out. You can pick up a metal mesh globe from Amazon.
