How do you prevent a purse from shedding?

I have several nice purses but they have started shedding everywhere from the handles to around the edges.

I think it has to do with where you live and the humidity. I have had some good expensive purses do this (specially non-leather ones). Even though my AC runs year around, it still happens.
Whether leather or pleather a leather conditioner will keep them soft, supple, and from drying out.
They may be nice, but it’s cheap plastic over fabric!😖 I had 2 pairs of very nice shoes that were lined in that garbage. I threw them out. It’s the heat, that’s the worst culprit.
What are they made of? I just replaced a purse handle with a belt I bought at the thrift shop.
Keep it in a dust bag, use leather cleaner, and see to it that it is safely stored away from any heat or liquid.
