How to remove plastic stuck on a steel door?

We replaced our back door with a steel door and we were never able to get the stuck on plastic packaging off. Any ideas? Sorry I do not know how to attach the picture.

How can I remove a magnetic door knocker from a metal door?

The magnet in the knocker has "welded" to the door and seems impossible to remove. I have to paint the door so if the paint is damaged its not a problem.
Hi. Try using a hair dryer on a small corner to remove.
Is this a coloured plastic coating (blue?). Make sure it is supposed to come off before trying to remove it. If so, Then starting from an upper corner, and with a pointy end of a knife, carefully pick the plastic to free a bit to get it to peel. If this doesn't work (ie. it's really, stuck) you may need the help of some heat - hair dryer to release the glue or the static cling.

A couple of things to add to the above advice:
If the hair dryer doesn't loosen enough, you can step it up to a heat gun but be careful, the door can get very hot and you could get burned.
I would use a plastic scraper so as not to damage the powder coating on the door.
Cling power is usually set with moisture and adheres as it dries so if you can get some water underneath, that should help to loosen.
