How can I get rid of the condensation between the panes.? I realise this will not help with the thermal issue, but this is a 3 foot diameter half window which is expensive.

I don;t think you can without replacing the glass. If the frame of the window is still in good shape you do not have to replace the whole window. Call a glass company to give you and estimate on replacing the glass in the window.

I had to this same problem with my window and doors thank god my husband bought the replacement insurance for the gas in the double pane windows . I hate to tell you but the only thing is they have to be replaced, nothing you can do to fix them. That gas leaked out, I'm beginning to think it's a scam because this is the 4th time I've done this in 3 years.

You could use a hairdryer to dry out the condensation if you new where the leak was . Then seal it.

When condensation got between the double glass I had to call a glass company to replace the glass and seal. It was around $200.00 but no problems since. By the way, the window was the bottom portion of a 3X6 window.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. First I need to get an estimate on replacement. I wish there was someone in South Carolina who would make the repair. I think I would probably break the glass.

Go on-line and look under glass companies in Hampton SC. You will get listings for your town and ones nearby. Call them to see what the trip charges would be.

double panned windows are usually gauarteed for life by the manufacturer. If you can find the name of a local dealer, they sould be able to help.

I went to our local glass company. $600 is the price to replace the glass. This is bad news. Unfortunately the manufacturer went bust years ago.

I got an estimate of $600. That is a lot of money. We live in the lowcountry of SC with mild winters. I am going to have a single paned window put in for $400. Thank you for your ideas and support.
