How can I repair the cranks on old jalousie windows?

How can I fix the cranks to my old mobile home jalousie windows so that I can open and close the windows? Any ideas that work are appreciated. I can’t afford new windows or to hire someone. Thanks all!

You can get replacement hardware from Amazon and other websites, possibly even your local home improvement center. Also, you might have a mobile home sales lot locally that sells parts.

  Usually a decent wax job will seep between the cracks to prevent this squeak. Sometimes though the squeak is caused by a warp in the board and when you step on that warp it makes a noise due to the Joints. Not much you can really do for a warped Board besides replace the board. However, if you do use WD40 because WD40 is very slick you yet need to clean up when done. Usually something like All or Tide can take off WD40 from the Surface but as that reduces sheen you end up with minwax to restore the sheen too. So, as the problem may be A Warped Board the best way to tell is to use a Level to see if the bubble in the level at all moves. And if the bubble stays same, you can just use minwax to let that seep in to make sure it is lubed rather than waste the WD40 (which if you never used WD40 it can indeed create a Walking/Fall Hazard if you spray it all over and walk on that spot with socks).
