That sounds like a good idea to me. But you still need something on both the door and the wall to prevent bangs, bump marks, and bounce backs. Best wishes ☺️
I've seen them mounted higher but, never as high as you mention. They also make cushions to keep the doorknob from digging in to the wall.
I installed our door stops on the actual doors. That way they move with the door when you’re vacuuming and are never in the way. I installed them down low so that when the door opens the stopper hits the skirting board and not the wall. The only downside to this is that if you have toddlers in your house they will stand on the stopper to reach the door handle 🙄 xx
Can’t say as I have ever considered putting them up high before, but I can’t think of any good reason it wouldn’t work. Worth a try!
I installed spring door stops on the baseboard. No one can step on them, don't get caught on a vacuum or broom. The flex because they are an actual spring with a rubber tip. Didn't like the hinge stops, don't allow doors to fully open. Placing them on a wall I can picture someone opening the door abruptly and then you.ve got a hole to repair.
You can install them either just above the baseboard or on the wall near the top of the door.
No reason why they can't be put up high, you might consider putting a cushion on the drywall to prevent any potential wall damage.
