How do I find alternate materials for a backsplash?
I have "wall board" that looks like wallpaper in my "modular" home which is basically a type of trailer. I really want a backsplash in my kitchen but since I can't remove the "wallpaper" I need to cover it up with something instead. I don't want tile (the grout gets gross in a kitchen) and I don't have the tools to cut anything thick around cabinets. Any suggestions as to what might be durable enough to use in place of tile or wood slats?

When I had my mobile home, I did a backsplash using very thin plywood. I cut squares to the size I wanted, made a simple design on the squares with hot glue. Then I spray painted the squares copper, and attached them to the space behind the sink with hot glue. It lasted as long as I owned my home.
They do sell peel and stick looking tile that you can cut with a utility knife. Here is my affiliate link for something you may be interested in.

I've used the ceiling panels that look like old tin ceilings , but there are lots of light weight products that you can cut with basic kitchen shears or a 'box knife'.

Hi Have you considered using bead board? It make a pretty back splash. A quick fix would be peel and stick back splash from Home Depot. I am considering using mirror tiles that are shaped similar to subway tiles. I've only seen them on line. My kitchen area is in the center of my house. There is no window in the actual work area. The only light is coming in from a set of bay windows at the other end of the room. The mirror tile would reflect the light and make it brighter. They are pricey about 20.00 a square foot but I don't have that much back splash area to cover.
Go to Wayfair.com they have peel and stick backsplash that’s beautiful!
