Tile ideas for a Pizza Stone?

I'd like a pizza stone for my oven. Cooking shows universally recommend inexpensive unglazed terra cotta tile as a viable alternative. Home Depot and Lowe's don't seem to sell these, and ordering them is at least as expensive as buying a ready-made pizza stone. Have you found a supplier of these inexpensive tile in your area or an alternative to the $40 stone from the kitchen store?

Other options are Walmart, Kohl's, Amazon. A "real" tile store will carry for pennies on the dollar. Here are some more options!

I have had my pizza stone for decades (probably around $20 back then), but I use it for much more than just pizza! Cookies and bread also turn out fab on a stone!
Try “Bed Bath & Beyond“. They have a ton of kitchen/cooking stuff.
Thanks for the help. I'm still no closer to finding tile for use instead of the pizza stone, but I like the idea of using fire brick to suspend the stone over the electric heating element.
I have not found them locally. Shipping tile from on-line sources makes the tile more expensive than purchasing a pizza stone on Amazon although the case purchase would leave me with more square footage than I can use.
From what I can tell, ten years ago these unglazed tiles were generally available but, like unfinished hardwood flooring, it has disappeared from store stock.
I don't know if you have one in your area but Floor Decor carries quarry unglazed tile in 6 x 6 in they work very well , I bought about ten for around 6.00
