This will sound weird but I keep a couple empty big coffee containers with the lids for when the stomach flu hits. They work well when nauseated. They are easy to handle, the opening is large and when done, put the lid on and throw away.

Plant small plants in metal cans, start seeds in platic
i go to an Amish grocery store once a year and get bulk dried goods....they are packed into clear plastic bags. the coffee and coco cans are much sturdier than the bags for storage.
If you have a garden, you can poke a few holes in the bottom of the coffee can and place it in the soil near plants. Fill with water and the plants will have a continuance of water. Of course, you have to refill the cans once or twice a week.
