I am looking for DIY ideas for using plastic thread spools.

You could Christmas trees, paints them different colors. You could also make a sewing wreath, decorative letters, up cycle and put smaller ribbon on them. Just a few ideas. Have fun!🙂

yes, the larger cones would be great for the christmas idea, now to find a use for the regular spool sizes I seem to have a few of those

Connect them together, cover with some material, and use then for legs on home made dolls, or critters that are shelf sitters! The legs bend and hang over shelf edge.

I have a friend who makes beaded necklaces and she would marbleize three spools (using the nail polish floating on water dip technique) and use them as large beads separated by large round (but smaller than the spool) beads and smaller beads for the rest of the necklace. I believe she starts with beads she wants to use and coordinates the nail polish color that she buys at the dollar store.

You can use them as hooks in your craft room! Decorative and useful!
