I put plants in them!
You could make candy baskets on special occasions. Get some Styrofoam to go about 2" from the top, put some shredded basket filler in there, or make your own with color paper and a shredder, then get a pack of wooden skewers, buy some candy bars, and some loose candy. Tape the candy bars to the skewers and arrange them in the basket. Scatter some loose candy below.
Similar to what was said above, and decorate for Valentines, paint white or red, and decorate with heart picks (usually at dollar store) for centerpieces, or Valentine's lollipops for a Valentine treat!
I use them to hold pens, pencils, markers, and crayons. We were amazed at how many ink pens were randomly laying around the house and how quickly these containers filled up. You can use one container for pens, one container for pencils, and one container for markers. If you have children or grandchildren, use all three for crayons.
Spay paint them in an Easter color and use them as the children’s baskets or place Easter flower n them.
If I had a place they could stay year round, I would paint or stain or even just clear coat them and decorate them seasonally.
January welcomes the New Year in with a snow theme
February, of course, is Valentine's Day ,so red, pink and white. Hearts, flowers, and lace.
I'm sure you can come up with the rest!
But if you're a once and done type, find that place for it, then use that wonderful imagination to decorate!
Most decorations can be obtained with a little paint and flowers from a $1Dollar store, or even in a local resale group. Please be sure to post pics!
