They can be used for extra seating, a guest bed in another room (like an office or playroom. I've seen them made redone into outdoor seating (you'd need to protect it with outdoor paint). You can repaint it any color that would look good in what ever room you put it in. They are good for using in spare bedroom/ family room for those guests that sometimes show up, or you don't have enough spare bedrooms for the relatives that come to visit.

If the frame is metal, you could paint it with Rustoleum so it will be resistant to rust and make it into a porch swing.
