Those containers make great storage! You could decorate the outside with paper and mod podge, or contact paper. Another possibility is to cover the outside with jute by gluing it on.
Years ago we had next door neighbors that used plastic containers to decorate for Christmas. She ran Christmas lights thru the containers. She cut small notches in the container and fed the wires in and back out. At night when she turned the lights on, it was beautiful. The containers magnified the light.
You can paint, or otherwise decorate them as you see fit. Then poke holes in the bottom, put a layer of gravel or other such rocks. Then you have some nice planters.
If you want round patio pavers, they can be used as the molds for that. Just spray some clear oil in them first so the paver releases after it's dry. I've been saving them too for some reason and may use the decorating/storage idea for the top shelf in my closet and label them so I know what I put in them. LOL!.
