How can I cover my ugly furnace door?

The furnace door is soooo ugly! And it's right next to the bathroom so it's in plain sight. Yes, it's functional so I guess air needs to be allowed in. Something easy and inexpensive and safe that looks nice. Any ideas?

Whoops! Here's a picture! Knotty pine paneling so it's a no on painting to match wall. And it's not possible to add a bookcase as it's in a narrowish hall.

Photo? When I had that, I painted same color as the wall.

Hello, why don't you paint it to match the wall color or paint it a nice accent color, it will look cleaner with new paint as well.

  Wish I could but walls are knotty pine paneling. Even painting to freshen it up might be problematic due to the louvered vents. Thank you.

  You can remove it and spray paint it a color that will look nice with knotty pine, depending on your furniture colors, it can compliment the pine attached one sample picture of a color that looks good with the pine

  You'd need to remove the metal frame part too then make a wood frame to hold grate here's basic idea http://lovegrowswild.com/2014/05/galvanized-metal-menu-board/ build for whatever the size of grate, just attach with hinges like a regular door.You could use 3-4 or (depending on weight of door 6 if needed) self closing hinges on inside of door and jamb. just check out kitchen cabinet hardware at Lowes or somewhere you'll need flush mount. Spray painting grate black will make it even less noticeable.

Pull out metal frame and make your own here's basic idea you'll need to make it your own size to fit opening http://lovegrowswild.com/2014/05/galvanized-metal-menu-board/ then you'll have to add hinges to door frame and door. I'd say 4 self closing kitchen cupboard ones mounted on inside of door maybe 6 if needed
