How do you make an interior door into a security deadbolt door?

i have a closet that I would like to turn into a secure space for valuables? presently it has a pre-hung hollow panel doorwith a regular handle lock and a dead bolt, also the hinges are exposed outward. How would I beef up the frame and surface of the door. I can't find a pre-hung steel clad and steel frame security door. Any ideas or makers you mightsuggest would be great. Thanks,Eclipsebigdog

First would be to switch the hinges, but with the door being hollow - that's not going to do much as far as security. Even if you filled the hollow core with foam, I think it would still be enough to kick in.

Your best bet is to eventually replace it with a new door. Have you tried looking on any buy/sell/trade sites? We see doors all the time.

I would rethink this idea. Any door that is beefed up to be a security door inside a house is screaming "there's valuables inside" that just creates a challenge for any thief. Either get a whole house security system or a large stand up safe that can be installed inside the closet and bolted to the floor.
