I know I'm not alone by any means in my obsession with Chip and Joanna Gaines, "Fixer Upper", as well as their Magnolia Market (I went to the silos grand opening and oh.em.gee!!!). One of her favorite decorating accessories are vintage Dutch tulip crates which are perfect trays to use around the home. For my first blogger Monthly DIY Challenge, our chosen supply was metallic paint and after stressing out about what to make forever, it dawned on me while perusing the Market's website to DIY my own version of Joanna's Dutch Tulip Crate. And y'all, it was SO EASY!!
Most of the supplies were already in my arsenal and wood pile (this is a GREAT way to make a little dent in that pile) so all I had to purchase was the metal sheeting.
It works in almost every room in our home and I still haven't decided where I want to use it, it's been moved around like four times already :) I think my most favorite place is on our newly updated rustic patio!

Homeroad on Feb 22, 2016I made one like this a few years ago but I used chicken wire. I love that you used the metal grating on the bottom and I'm going to use your great idea on my next one :) Thanks for the inspiration.

Emily @ Table & Hearth on Feb 23, 2016@Homeroad Thanks! I thought about chicken wire initially but wanted something a little more sturdy, so the perforated aluminum was perfect :)
