I took a plain old canvas drop cloth and turned it into a colorful rug with a little spray paint. All it takes is some measuring, patiently taping off the pattern and then spray away.

What about staying completely flat

I believe I taped it
down with double sided tape. Honestly, I didnāt use it long enough to know how it held up. We moved shortly after and didnāt take it in the move.

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Does this need to be sealed??? I would personally be using it inside.
Do you need to wash the drop cloth before painting it and would this hold up on an outside covered porch? Thank you
Hi,
did you mask off the entire rug for each color? also I think adding / gluing/ sewing(yuck) one of those rug backers would help hold it down. I've made a table cloth using drop cloth and it has held up wonderfully I stamped it using cheap acryllic paint and it washes and dries beautifully. the dryer heat helps set the paint.
