Need curb appeal ideas

Liz on Jun 16, 2016A brown stain would look good. Research online for the best quality rated exterior wood stains. For our house in the mountains, we used a subdued old barn red. More deep, brownish burgundy than red. Also, you can add some of the fake stones to the base of the house. Again, research online for these. Some of them are quite lovely and very realistic, but lighter weight than real stone. Good luck!Helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Jun 16, 2016To start with I would darken that beautiful wood but I do not mind the trim.I don't think I would paint that just yet. Do the house and then see what you think. As far as the landscaping goes it appears to be very slanted property. I to have it and let me tell you not easy to do. With that said obviously the rocks will have to come out in order to plant and could be used at a later date. More information will be needed to help you with your plant selection. Most important the zone you live in and lighting.Helpful Reply

Cindy on Jun 16, 2016You need to add some color around the doors and windows. Trim them in a green or red and see the house pop!Helpful Reply

Jennie Lee on Jun 17, 2016Your home is beautiful. Other than making that whitish part of your porch roof trim match the rest, I think what you mainly need is more plant life. If you planted white clematis among your stones, the vines would grow over them. It's a perennial. You could also coat your driveway a nice new-looking black. Some other climbing plants around your entrance would be good. If you don't already have your house number some where, you need to; it's a safety consideration. They make ones that look like stone, but they have solar powered lights in them that light up the number on the front when it gets dark. You could put it among the stones, maybe 6-7 feet from the driveway, on the right.Helpful Reply

Martha on Jun 18, 2016Wow! It's a beautiful home. I love the rustic looking wood siding and would keep it. Maybe paint the trim a color such as dark green, teal, or rusty red. I think what your curb appeal is missing is a few plants between the stone wall (which I love!) and the house to soften the lines and make it look more finished.Helpful Reply

Jer7506110 on Jun 23, 2016I just had some mock ups done by Kevin strader from creative visual concepts. He is from Kentucky . I found it really helpful. It was well worth the minamal fee. Starts at $25. He can show you a real life view of what your house will look like! Saving a lot of $ on mistakes prior to even starting. I would really appreciate input on which one you like the best.Helpful Reply

Just John on Jun 23, 2016I have a suggestion for lining both sides of the drive with simple post and cross beams fencing to create a visual stop for all the big rock that look like they want to roll down into the driveway. You could have this all computer enervated first to see what it would be like.Helpful Reply

Swinnen Lisette on Jun 28, 2016I wouldn't do anything to the house, except maybe some balcon pots with geraniums and so hanging down, but I am a "Austria" kind of person, I love it. I agree with John and add something sides your driveway besides your beautifull idea of the faux river.Helpful Reply
