Pazazz on Jul 21, 2013Robin, my only comment is not too much red. I love the idea of tables & chairs. Don't think you need red pillows on bed; however a pop of red in some artwork would be great.Helpful Reply

Robin on Jul 21, 2013Thanks Pazazz. If I do add a red pillow, it will only be one. I don't want to much red.Helpful Reply

Tamela Bowie Interiors on Jul 21, 2013I think that the red would look amazing in the space. I think that a small red pillow with gold accents would look great on the bed....just one though, especially if you are going to bring in art that has red accents. In regards to the red chairs, I would only use one in the space and place it on the opposite side of the room of the red nightstands to balance out the red throughout the space.Helpful Reply

Kimberly A on Jul 22, 2013i feel in order to truly tie the bedding with the other red pieces, you would need a bit of red. That one little pillow will be exactly what grounds everything. Careful with the art though because this bedding is your focal "artistic" interest point.Helpful Reply

Barbara R on Jul 22, 2013I would add a red bedskirt and a couple simple red pillows, yes, But the brown bedskirt is definitely OUT! (And make sure all your reds are the same hues...either blue or orange), don't mix them.Helpful Reply

Cyndi Moore Tippett on Jul 22, 2013another thought would be to add a little grey in your room bc black and red are so vibrant. The grey would add a calming affect to the burst of red. It will be beautiful!Helpful Reply

Robin on Jul 22, 2013I love all your suggestions. The Bed skirt is gold and I may change that out after I get it. I have a few ideals that I am going to play around with and see how I like them. I do appreciate all your help.Helpful Reply

V Valencia on Jul 22, 2013Black and White are considered neutrals so they beg an accent color. The picture currently shows a goldy, beige color as the accent color. So you could replace this with red accents, pillows, skirt, wall art....and the throw. If you add a second accent color, you run the risk of it looking too busy and like an afterthought. If you do add the second accent color, I would add other red pieces in the room to tie it all together. The pillows and headboard appear to be made of elegant, fancy fabrics so I would make sure fabric of the throw is a like texture.Helpful Reply

Pamela Carden on Jul 22, 2013Just be careful of the color of red. I don't think a orange colored red would be good. Other than that, I will look great.Helpful Reply

Robin on Jul 22, 2013Valencia. The picture above is just a picture and is not my bed. The black & white pillows are the only two pillows that come with the set. I am still debating on getting it, because I already have two red end tables and two red chairs. I love the look of the black and white comforter and I was wondering how I could bring that into my room without having to change the chairs and the end tables. Thanks for all your suggestions.Helpful Reply

Gwen on Jul 22, 2013trust your judgement!! I can't believe you found the perfect comforter to accent your red items! You will have fun pulling it all together. It made me think traditional. Chinese . Love all you are describing!Helpful Reply

Leslie D on Jul 22, 2013My thought would be to make the comforter appear as if it is meant to have red accents with it. A little fabric paint in your color red, and you could accent the comforter itself with a little of that color to make it tie in. A very quick, rough sketch below, but enough to give the idea a visual.Helpful Reply

Carole curtis on Jul 22, 2013I'd go for more of a maroon or deep red with one bright reddish gold for thr center pillow. Or, you could go for red sheets as a contrast.Helpful Reply

Robin on Jul 22, 2013Leslie, Thanks so much for the ideal of the fabric paint. It helps me to visualize what adding red would look like. I am leaning more and more towards getting that comforter set :)Helpful Reply

Leslie D on Jul 22, 2013One other question. Are your walls white? I'm afraid if the walls are dark, that a combination of red/gold/black could end up looking like a brothel....LOL Less is more and I would definitely recommend light walls to pull this off.Helpful Reply

Robin on Jul 22, 2013Leslie, My walls are a light tan color and I definitely don't want a brothel look LOL. I looking forward to pulling this all together. Thanks for your helpHelpful Reply

Val Roche on Jul 22, 2013My thoughts would be a touch of cherry red , even maybe in an oriental ornament . It will be a very lovely rich room . Like the idea of Leslie D's , which could be a large motive or buttons design . Crafty etc.Helpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Jul 23, 2013@Robin I think the red accents would go great with this set. I have a comforter set that is red and black, and had to go easy on the red accents. Found a chair that goes well and have red curtains and then added a gold framed pic of a tree with red leaves and a red lantern. I don't think you have to worry. Once you have it all together you will intuitively know what should stay and what should go. Because I have red in the comforter I have a couple of red accent pillows but have topped with black textured pillow that tones it down a bit. Let us know what you do and if you can post a pic. I will try and take a pic of my room tomorrow.Helpful Reply

Carole on Jul 23, 2013I am with Leslie D. It would be very easy for it to look too much and end up with the brothel look, so I also think sometimes less is more. You want to keep it classy! Good luck with it - lovely comforter set by the way!Helpful Reply

Jean DeSavage on Jul 25, 2013I would take a drawer from one of the end tables to try to match the red, or to get a red that would compliment it. Reds, like blue and greens can be a real pain to match. I absolutely love the comforter!Helpful Reply

Marsha Groce on Nov 03, 2015Hey, try turning that comforter over, what is the design? If it is White with Brown designs I think that would just do really well. Also, just a pop of red on the bed then throw a few red things around in the room as well. If you want your bed as a focal point then a few other red items will carry your eyes all around the room. I like an orange, bittersweet berry color with browns. It brings out the richness in the brown and the reds.Helpful Reply

Lynda Davison on May 03, 2016I think the colors here are enough...adding red would actually take away from the beautiful formality of the comforter set. Perhaps look for another bedding set that is already receptive to red accents... just an opinion :)Helpful Reply

Debi53 on May 03, 2016I really think you will not be happy with red accents with this particular comforter set. This set is very elegant and I think red would detract from this. I agree with some others who have suggested that you consider a different comforter set if you want to use the red chairs and tables.Helpful Reply
