Antique Victorian Rocking Chair Make Over

This chair was tired and needed some love. So, I gave it some! :)
I've had this chair for years and went back and forth about doing this. I finally decided to just go for it. After all, it can always be undone down the road.
All I did was clean it well. Then removed the 2 layers of old upholstery.
I gave it a coat of granite gray, than after that dried, I used blue "Rub n Buff" to highlight the details on the back of the chair.
When the first coat dried, I gave it a light coat of class gray stain. I swirled the can and didn't stir it because i didn't want the true color to come through. It takes longer to dry, but I like the finish I get doing it this way. I went right over the blue and it gave it a nice antique look.
I had just enough fabric left over from another project to reupholster, then trimmed with nail heads. Thanks for lookin' :)

My mother just got a similar type of chair and I have been searching for info and haven’t found anything like it yet. Yours is probably the closest one so far!
