What is the best way to clean brick floors?
We recently purchased a home that has real brick floors in the foyer, hall and sunroom - not sure whether to damp mop with only water, use a special cleaner, etc.?
Clean or remove ? To clean , I would use the round brush attachment to the hose of the vacuum and very lightly dab at the problem areas like corners and spider webs .
To remove: attach 12 inch wide scraper to of shop vacuum with duck tape and go to town . You will love the new ceiling .
Spray water on a workable area a few feet square to dampen(I just used a spray bottle), let it sit until the popcorn is soft and scrap with a wide putty knife. I'll warn you that it's a grueling and messy job. You'll likely run into what I did with having to spackle little spots left from recessed nail heads, etc. I'm going to hire someone to do the rest of my house.
I should clarify that if you use the method I use you will get a glassy smooth ceiling. If you just "knock off" the high spots by scraping it when it's dry, you'll have a smoother popcorn ceiling.
To clean, use a brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner.
Thank you..yes, i should have clarified....its those darn spiders webs that keep attaching to the popcorn ceiling..so just trying to get the webs removed...
I vacuum mine with the soft brush attachment on the vacuum cleaner. I can't stand the popcorn ceilings and will eventually have removed them and until that time, suck the ceiling clean! (Secretly hoping I will eventually suck off all the popcorn too . . .🤔)
No help about the ceiling but a question to you all about the spider webs. Does it seem that the spiders are worse than ever the last couple of years? I don't remember ever having to swiffer and vacuum this many webs every week!
