What to do about moss?

Living amongst many trees, we have a problem with moss slowly taking over the grass we planted. It sort of looks nice and feels like carpet, but we still would like to save the grass. Is it possible? Will it take a lot of time and money?

Apply moss out by Scotts.
If your yard is very shady, grass may not flourish. A moss lawn is actually quite beautiful. "Southern Living" magazine had an article about moss lawns a few months ago. You may want to check some back issues of the magazine for the article.
I found Lily Miller Moss Out granules work best that you apply with a spreader. They also have it in liquid form that you apply with a hose applicator.
I have the same problem. We removed all the moss and grass in our backyard last summer to sort of "start over" and planted grass. All the grass came up perfectly and there was virtually no moss. Now this winter/spring once the snow started to melt I bet we have a mix of 50/50 grass and moss. It just grew and started to take over again. I'm learning that instead of fighting with it I have to work with it. I also decided too, that the moss looks and feels good and I don't have to get out the lawnmower ;) Good luck!
