I agree with that. I have done that before. Just wait it out, it will get better yet. dry and warmer weather is on the way. I hope you can get into your garden to plant soon. I had planted green and corn seeds and a few tomato plants before this cold snap happened. Covered my tomatoes with pots and put my bianters and strawberries in garage. So far, all the plants are fine but it is still too early if seeds are going to germinate or not. Oh well, that is Minnesota for you!

There's really little you can do except wait it out! We've had a lot of rain lately (southern Ontario) but next week is supposed to be better. If you have clay soil, you might be wise to add some sand to the beds for better drainage. My son has the best soil I've ever seen - you barely have to pull when weeding as the soil is well drained, porous and "fluffy" and is a delight to work in. He adds good top soil every year plus other additions the local nursery suggests and it has paid off big time with easy weeding, healthy plants and shrubs and lots of blooms on the perennials!

We always try to grade our property to have good drainage. You can and drains in parts of your garden to remove excess water. Grading is very important for your garden and care of your home.

Weather has been all over the place and I feel for all the gardeners and the farmers that produce our food. We were having a nice spring, my fig trees sprouted tons of fruit and then we had a week solid of horrible wind . . . Whipped the figs off like little bombs. Dried everything out and all tattered and brown. Then it got HOT and now more rain and snow close by.

Strawberry patch made it and most of my other stuff is barely limping along. Luckily still early enough to replant and hope for the best.
