How to rid crayfish from building mud chimneys in my lawn?

Generally , crawfish thrive in super saturated soil. In the South , we flood the rice fields after the harvest so we can have a second harvest--of the crawfish . If you have a problem with many of these in your yard, I'm guessing that you have a drainage issue . Address the drainage problem and the crawfish will go away .

HI Eleanor! Wow, I was looking up answers to your question and have mixed results. The use of poisons was recommended by one site but every other site advised against poisons or pesticides because of the toxic effect on the plants and water and creatures in the area. Another suggestion was raising the level of the ground to make it drier and less accessible to the crawfish. I don't know if you mean crawfish like the stuff you eat, or cray fish like the stuff you want out of your yard. I found a link on google that actually had both words in it so I would go with Ficher's idea.

Can't imagine any better solution at least to start with!!
