Many people in the community have recommended lethal methods as the only effective way. That would be your choice, though I don't know anything about it. Have you tried natural methods? Sprinkling things that they don't like in large ish quantities - Tabasco sauce, coffee grounds, moth balls, and dryer sheets?
I have never had gophers, but we have had moles several times before. The best thing we found that works is one of these solar pest repeller. A product called Sniff N Stop granules, made from essential oils. Can be found online at Amazon or sometimes in Ace Hardware or your local camping store
Do some research on what's attracting them to your yard. If you eliminate that, you could solve your problem. :)
If you or if you know anyone who has snakes, keep the skin when they shed and place a good long piece in each in hole. They won't be back. Tried and true!
