Sentry Home Gard Yard Spray for Pets has been our favorite of several brands we have used in the last few years. We don't have pets, but I don't even know why that is on the label. This spray will kill ants and a bunch of other bugs "on contact", which means it's not for getting into the whole ant bed, where a million ants are living. However, we have found that, instead of fleeing into the bed, when we start spraying, the ants rush out and we keep spraying. We go back the next day and treat the same hill and any new ones. Fire ants are so resilient, they mostly just move and build new ant beds. So the key for us
So the key for us is to keep the fire ants further and further from the play yard, the fancy plants, and where we will mow. With perseverance, its bye-bye fire ants. If that doesn't work, our neighbors in Louisiana would bring around the flame thrower. That scorched earth policy worked. Best wishes on your battle!
