First clean and remove any rust already existing, then use a rag to apply a brass sealer to all of your knobs/locks to ensure long term help- best of luck!

yes they recommend them for people who have brass beds the polishing will kill you....lol but yes seal all brass after you clean it

Mohawk makes a lacquer for brass! I think you just spray it on after it's clean. You can find it on Amazon.com
