I would be afraid to with it being a fire place
I would worry about the heat with the glass.
If it is a real wood-burning fireplace an you are referring to the interior, then no. It will not hold up to heat. The only thing on the inside should be the fire brick. you can clean it with a wire brush . If you are referring to the visible time on the outside, You could paint it with time paint, but it may eventually peel from the heat. I would paint the wood areas with complementary colors, such as dark brown for the mantle and dessert beige for the rest, or simply paint around the tile and leave the white as it is. You have many options with color
Leave as is if your listing the house. Neutral will sell better.
Hard to tell from the photo but looks like it would be out of keeping with the tiles.
I would leave it neutral. I just purchased a house and the fireplace is neutrals (black and white mostly), but we looked at some houses with crazy colored fireplaces (bright orange and maroon); they were a turn off. I saw it as another project.
Selling means use neutral colors. That being said, I think it may get be nice to put abase of colorful flowers on the mantel and maybe a colorful statue off to the side on the floor. A person looking to buy could see that their own coloru things would work well.
I(f the home leans traditional, leave it. If you have a contemporary vibe that flows through the house, a glass mosaic would be pretty. Freshen the screen with heat resistant paint or ditch it altogether. Best of luck in your sale!
No, I wouldn't do anything like that - a potential buyer may really dislike your project. Your fireplace, mantel, etc. is absolutely fine just the way it is; I see nothing offensive at all! A viewer likes to see a blank/neutral home that they can easily put their own stamp on when they buy. When I had Open Houses (I've moved a lot!), I would have a pot of tulips or mums (depending on the Season, of course) on the hearth. If you are listing right now, buy a lovely Boston Fern (it will look nice right through the year) and sit it on the hearth. A green plant always add "life" to a room.
Off subject ... but don't follow the popular advice of placing scented candles or products (or simmering potpourri) around - when I detect that in a home, I immediately think of what pet odor (or mildew) is the seller might be trying to conceal. A clean, well maintained home doesn't need any concealment tricks! Good luck with your sale!
Leave the marble as is and paint the wooden mantle in a color liked by your area residents like blue or beige are very New England, sometimes a bright darker color adds a focal point. Remove the sign above it, as it is out of scale too over powering. The fire screen too can be removed if it is summer, get a smaller summer screen or andirons and place some nice logs on them.
Leave it neutral. People can better visaulize their belongings in the house, when there are no distractions.
We passed on a few homes due to an excess of colour, on items that were hard/expensive to change.
Leave it alone. Nothing wrong with it! New people can do whatever they want.
Leave it as it is! Add a few logs maybe! or a fire basket etc.
