Chickens don't need toys. They need lots of bugs as they forage through the grass.
Your question is quite interesting, never thought about it, I did google it and their are numerous articles saying " yes " chickens do need "toys" they suggested hanging a head of lettuce on a string so they peck at in, all the " toys" appear to be food oriented. Your concern for your chickens is very heart warming.
Toys, per se......none. Like above states, food stuff. Watermelon rind, corn cobs, basically any apple. Your chickens will be perfectly content with these items.
