You may mean "load bearing wall"? It's a crucial part of a building's structure that holds the weight of the above floors or roof...as opposed to one that does not (a closet wall for example, that only separates it from another space. You may need a pro to help you determine, although there might be discussions on the internet or u-tube.
If you HAVE to take out a load bearing wall you MUST replace it with a beam strong enough to bear the weight of what is above it...sometimes simple, sometimes not!
A load bearing wall can be identified by looking at the ceiling joice to see if the juices are sitting on top of the header.
John, you are looking to find out if your wall is "load bearing" in other words it is holding the weight of the roof. While I know the term, I can only suggest you call a contractor as this is important enough you do not want to make an error.
