Put up a cornice board with curtain to go through so it looks like a window. Hang beads (70's retro style). Embellish the doorway with a favorite style or pictures of the family. Hang café doors and decorate to enhance the bedroom.
if you purchase inexpensive, plain doors from local home improvement store, you can dress them up with paint mimicing the more expensive doors or trim them using dollar store picture frames glued in place. Rather than doing all at once, you could do door every month or two until finished.
Curtains, Blinds, String Door Curtain, Dress Screens etc
A hollow core raised panel door only costs about $30. You can get one at Lowes or Home Depot.
Try the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, they usually have lots of doors.
Check out Restore , they're even cheaper there.
I did my mom's bedroom and closet doors when she had shoulder surgery she couldn't open them anymore. I used Driftwood like a curtain rod and picked up some fabric on clearance. I used stitch witchery for them so I didn't even need to sew them, entire project for three doors costed me about $15
Use a tension rod to hang a curtain
Thanks to all who responded to my question!
Thrift store shopping ....... an extension rod, and a curtain panel will work for the short term. When budget allows, Habitat is the best place for resale doors. Same thing for windows. Best of luck.
Our local Habitat restore usually has doors.
