I think darker siding would help. Right now the add on looks to be the color of the trim. I would match it to a color in the bricks.
First, whatever you do, you should add shutters to match the ones on the main house. This way the addition would be somewhat unified with the rest of the structure. Try to match the siding to the medium-most color of the brick and landscape to match the rest of the house.
I agree with matching the shutters on the new addition. How about planting arborvitae or flowering trees (such as virburnum) on either side of the windows of the new addition with a trellis of flowering vines/roses between the two windows. The greenery would soften the pink brick, raise the eye, and help unify the plantings of the main house. The front of the main house is somewhat dark in appearance (perhaps the light), so some "airiness" is needed. I think if you put dark siding over the brick, it could be too dark).
I would have the brick washed, then choose a color gray siding that would complement the brick and roof; paint all trim bright white. Add matching shutters on the addition. Paint all shutters either black or midnight blue. Pain the front door a contrasting color such as a crimson. Add new lighting fixtures.
I would also consider either taking the tree down or trim some large branches back to bring natural light through the front entrance. Landscape with your favorite plants and complementing colors. It is a pretty home, enjoy. I hope this helped.
Take the large tree down and trim the others back in order to see the beautiful home! I think the color of the addition should blend with the color of the brick. Add black shutters, some bushes/flowers, and spiffy up the other landscaping.
The best trick is to add the same brick a quarter way up to the windows and add the same matching shutters and landscaping. Tair a picture f your home along with a close up of the brick and check your local brick construction places. Heres a few photo of he ideas I have mentioned. Your house is beautiful and take tree is blocking your curb appeal 😳
All good suggestions. What about matching the siding paint to the colour of your brick mortar? In my case the mortar was a green-tinged gray, and when we had the siding put in, it coordinated nicely with our "lovely" salmon brick.
I had the same issue with a pink tone in the stone on my house. Gray just seem to amplify the pink color. I see you have a darker color brick in your home I would use that to do the siding in and of course add the shutters to the addition. I would also consider painting the post and shutters a different color. Brighten the landscape with some colorful flowers.
Thanks for all the ideas. So we got info on addbig a gable to the front of addition and of course adding the shutters. Shingle siding on main house and addition gables. but I have to decide on colors before they start in a week. Here are some silly pics i played with. The app was awful. But it gives you an idea. I need to decide on siding color for addition- shingle siding for gables color, trim, fascia, gutter, pillars and shutter colors. Basically everything except the Brick. Oh and i have black trim on my new fence. Stain it all black or leave the natural wood color With black trim?
