Make Storage under the Bed.
1. Use boxes you have lying around and remove the flaps at the opening end. You can use these boxes to organize items and more them to closets (organize closets as well. You can always cover these boxes with pretty paper etc.
2. Move anything that is not needed on a daily basis or purely decorative into closets or drawers. Make sure those spaces are organized with boxes or dividers.
3. Use a label maker for organizing said closets and drawers
Declutter first getting rid of any unwanted/unused items. Clear any surfaces of items (knickknacks, jewelry boxes, etc) now re-assess...still too much? can you re home any of the furniture? Are the closets and drawers set up for maximum efficiency?
First to do, purge clothing from closets. Toss unflattering, too small, too large, out-of-date items (or donate usable things). Clear your dresser drawers of similar items. I found when you do this you will find "space" and be motivated to keep organizing
shelves about18 inches from the ceiling are great for stuffed toys in a child's room.
I am the total opposite of a hoarder..if it's not been used for six months, out it goes. Store NOTHING on the floor.
Eliminate what you don't use. Take advantage of every space you have. Buy taller dressers, use nightstands that have drawers so you can store small items in there (socks, underwear, pajamas, jewelry, etc). Use storage boxes under your bed for out of season items (sweaters, etc). If you have room, put an upholstered storage bench at the end of your bed for extra items.
Get rid of space wasters!! Store out of season clothing in an attic or garage.
