Clean Your Dishwasher

Can you get clean in a dirty tub? Neither can your plates. It’s important to clean your dishwasher every few months to make sure it can do its job as effectively as possible. If you don’t do this, it won’t be long before you start finding bits of food and residue on those plates and glasses that are supposed to be clean. http://bit.ly/1iMbXlB
1. Remove the spray arms (see your owner's manual) and make sure that the holes are free of food particles, debris, or minerals from the soap or water. Carefully use a nail, paperclip, or similar "tool" to clean the holes.
2. Clean the filter basket at the bottom of your dishwasher. You'll be amazed at how much stuff you'll find in there (especially the first time you clean it). Reference your owner's manual for how to open the filter basket.
3. Clean the interior of your dishwasher to get rid of the mineral deposits and scaling that dishwasher detergent can't remove. Pour one cup of distilled white vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher and run a complete cycle on the hottest setting.
4. Check the rubber gasket that waterproofs the dishwasher to make sure that it’s not cracking or broken. A bad gasket can lead to water leaks (disaster waiting to happen.)
5. Check the hose connections from the dishwasher to the water line and the drain line. Simply make sure that the hoses look to be in good condition and that the connections look nice and tight.
